Welcome to Cruncher Labs, the home of Cruncher!

Cruncher provides an end-to-end data crunching platform with a focus on data science and advanced analytics for analysts and business people. It lets you bring all your siloed data sources in one place and empowers you to extract deep insights using a powerful, yet simple interface. 

Cruncher expose three simple concepts that you need to familiarize yourself with.

* **Connectors**: Used to connect your data sources to the Cruncher
* **Tables:** A magical mirror of your data in your data sources present in a data sheet looking interface with extensive abilities to further correct, enhance and enrich your data source
* **Apps**: Apps are focused on extracting insights from your tables no matter where they are coming from. You can either consume prebuilt apps for immediate insights or create your own in minutes. No coding is required!

What is Cruncher?

Data Cruncher is a fully managed, modern data analytics platform that allows you to bring all your siloed business data sources in one place and empowers you to build deep insights around them in minutes.

Building your own data platform is a tedious, long and expensive process and Data Cruncher eliminates all those pain with a highly scalable, automated solution.

Cruncher can be programmed using a drag & drop interface, SQL or Python depending on your team member skill sets. Data Cruncher is for everything in your business.

Essentially Cruncher is serverless data platform that is capable of to perform the six major tasks of a data platform in a single solution. These steps are given in below.

* **Ingest**: Cruncher is capable of ingesting data from SaaS services, files, SQL databases, NoSql Database, major data warehouses.
* **Clean and Enrich:** Real-world data are always dirty and incomplete. Data Cruncher has powerful built-in capabilities to allow youm, clean and enrich your business data in ways not easily done today
* **Host**: Data Cruncher is capable of hosting your data and has a scalable warehouse which removes the need to use extra warehouses
* **Analyze:** The main value of a data platform extract deep insights about the business.  Data Cruncher analytics engine let you apply sophisticated analytics to your dataset.
*  **Visualization**: Human need to consume the insights visually and Data Cruncher has built-in capabilities to convert the result into highly interactive charts. This means you do not need a separate visualization tool
* **Share:** Data Cruncher let you share your dashboards in a secure way and controlled way. They result are automatically updated and share links are all dynamic. 


# Connectors

What are Cruncher Connectors?

The first step in crunching your business data is to connect them to the Cruncher. The platform comes with 24 different direct connectors to enable you bring your siloed data sources with a few clicks. 

Connectors are categories in four major categories

* **SaaS**: This to bring your business data recorded or collected by third party SaaS services. 
* **Database**: Cruncher can directly connect to your SQL and NoSQL databases
* **Warehouse:**  While Cruncher has its own build-in warehouse, it works with your existing warehouse to enable unmatched data unification
* **Files:** A huge portion of the real business data are in static files and Cruncher can directly consume and ingest these files.

How to connect Segment to Data Cruncher?

Data Cruncher can automatically connect to your Segment account and collect your user data for deep analytics. We can collect all the following event types

* [Alias](https://segment.com/docs/spec/alias/): what was their past identity?

Here are the steps required to connect Segment to Data Cruncher.

#### Step 1: Select "Create New" in Connectors page

#### Step 1: Select Segment under Events

#### Step 2: Pick a name for your Connector and click Authorize

#### Step 3: Create connection to Data Cruncher on Segment

Cruncher will redirect you to Segment website where you will be presented with the following screen.

Select your desired Segment source from the provided drop down menu. Once selected, click "Send Data" and you will be redirected back to your Cruncher Connectors page. 

At this point, your user data is being forward to Data Cruncher through Segment. You can see your connectivity in the Connectors page.

Data Cruncher performs on the fly clean and enrichment to your Segment data in real time. You can see a live view of your data under Tables.

What are Cruncher Tables?

Tables are data sheeting looking concepts that are populate automatically based on your Connectors. They content are automatically synced to your data sources and you goal is to build insights around Tables within the apps.

Tables allow you to modify and enrich your data to your heart content and provide powerful means to manipulate their content.
